What documents do you need when moving to Apeldoorn?

If you are moving to Apeldoorn, you need to organise your move now. More than 140,000 fellow residents want to find a nice house, and so do you. House prices are rising, so make sure you don’t miss out. Start looking for a job, a house or a flat yourself. And the removal company will do the rest for you.

Moving to the city

You can register your move to Apeldoorn online at the local authority. The best time to do this is between 4 weeks before and 5 days after the move. Make sure you have your DigiD handy. Of course, you can also make an appointment for a physical visit to the town hall. If you prefer to report your move digitally, download the form and send it to Apeldoorn Town Hall. Always bring your passport or other identity document with you to the visit.

Moving from abroad

Apeldoorn may not be the first place that comes to mind for people moving abroad. However, if you are moving to Apeldoorn from abroad, you must make sure that you visit the town hall for registration within 5 days. You will then be entered in the Basic Register (BRP) and can obtain a BSN. You can then also arrange for a driving licence or any benefits.

Documents required for an international move

If you have not lived in the Netherlands before, report this to the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND) before you move to Apeldoorn. There you can obtain a residence permit, which you should of course bring to your appointment at the town hall. You should also bring with you a valid identity card, birth certificate or other source documents such as marriage or divorce papers. These should be submitted in Dutch, English, German or French. If you do not have documents in these languages, you should ask for a translation into one of these languages by a sworn translator before your visit.

Moving costs

When planning a move to another city or country, look for a removal company to take care of your move. Whether it’s furniture, clothes or antiques, it’s worth putting them in the hands of professionals so that nothing of your possessions gets broken or lost during the transition to your new home. Compare several companies and choose the one that suits you best for transporting your belongings.
